Gut-Loving Stewed Apples
Serves: 4
This recipe is high in fibre to nourish your digestive system and feed your good gut bugs. I personally love adding stewed apples to my morning oats for extra goodness.
Ingredients:
2 large chopped apples (leave the skin on)
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons water
Manuka honey (optional)
Method:
Add apples, water, cinnamon and ginger to a small covered saucepan.
Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the apples soften. Stir regularly to avoid sticking or burning.
Remove from heat and drizzle with Manuka honey (for an extra immunity boost). Store sealed in the fridge and reheat before serving.
